SOMLO VILLA

The building of the old Kindergarten was used by management staff of the old sawmill. It was known as Somlo Villa before the World War II. During the period of the new Yugoslavia, the prefabricated part was added to the building and it was used as a kindergarten. The Local Democracy Embassy, an organization for international cooperation, has been located in the old part of the building since 2000.

VILLA BEDENIC

Today’s Electric utility facility of the Zavidovići used to be a villa owned by the director of „The Gregerson Forest Industry company “, later called “Našićka”, it was also known as „Vila Bedenića“. It was the home of a Jewish family Buchbinder (Hinko and Josef) who changed the family name into Bedenić. In the later period, many modifications were made on the building.

VILLA CAVALLINI

The Italian company “Cavallini”, which had thirty workers in 1905, was in production of industrial charcoal business. Felix Cavallini’s Villa is located in the part of the town known as “Cumurana” today, and it has been sold to Fehim Jamakovic. It is also known as Jamakovica Villa. The Hajdarovac family has owned the building since 1965.

 

KRIVAJA VILLA

Villa “Eissler & Ortlieb” was built for the needs of the owner of the company as their residence. This building basically marked the beginning of building of a new colony for workers. It was moved in around 1900, and it had already been equipped with the latest water and electrical installations. This building is an example of a residential villa from the time of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy in B&H with distinctive romantic features in the exterior, such as a prominent post and panes structure, decorative wooden motifs, the use of various types of windows, outer stairs and porches. Due to a mixture of various architectural features, the building represents a picturesque oasis in the city and is a truly beautiful sight.
