ABOUT SPHERES
Zavidovići is the largest site of stone spheres in Europe. About 60 of them have been found so far, 11 of which have been preserved in an excellent condition. Unfortunately, many of them have been broken. Some of the spheres are so big that they are 2 meters in diameter. However, what is particularly interesting is that all of them are lined up along the creek in the woods and are very close to each other.
Bosnia and Herzegovina is not the only country where something like this can be found. Similar stone spheres exist in Mexico, Costa Rica and some other countries of South America.

THE ORIGIN OF THE STONE SPHERES
Geologists have been trying to prove that the nature made this perfect shape, while archeologists have been trying to disprove them. Everyone has their own theory and they couldn’t agree.
Archeologists say that there are stone spheres all over the world made of three different materials – granite, volcanic rocks and sandstone. Zavidovići’s spheres are persumed to be made of sandstone. The analysis of materials conducted in the US and Russia, has shown that the spheres are consisted of 90 percent of elements found in sandstone, while 10 percent are the elements which cannot be found in sandstone, and those are calcium carbonate and manganese. Which is why we come to the assumption that some ancient civilizations crushed rock material, added it to earth molds, and added calcium carbonate, because it gives firmness and manganese which is the best binding material.

Zavidovići also has the largest stone sphere in the world. The sphere is 3.5 m in diameter and weighs 37 tons.
Many naturalists and scientists testify to the energy properties of the sphere.
